"Mooncake Comsumption Survey"
The monthly waste of moon cakes in Hong Kong is staggering. Local recycling organizations alone have processed hundreds of thousands of remaining moon cakes every year. In response to this problem, Shidehao has carried out the "Mid-Autumn Festival Consumption and Mooncake Waste Survey" for six consecutive years. Every year, it discusses and publishes the number of gifts and excess mooncakes given by Hong Kong people. In addition to raising awareness of food waste during festivals, it also raises questions to the public. A series of green consumption and gift-giving programs promote the Mid-Autumn Festival food cherishing culture.
"Household Food Waste Survey"
In order to explore the causes and incentives of Hong Kong households’ food waste generation behavior and the current public’s mastery of household waste reduction techniques, good food ethics and Hong Kong Baptist University International The college cooperated in conducting the first territory-wide household food waste survey. The survey revolved around the citizens' understanding of food waste, treatment, and garbage levy plans, and based on the survey results, suggestions were made for reference by all walks of life.

"Household food waste survey (cooking habits and discarded ingredients)"
Each cooking family will inevitably produce household food waste; in order to understand the current situation of food waste generated by the citizens, the food ethics and the International College discussed household cooking The production of surplus is focused on the research direction of cooking soup residue and discarded ingredients. At the same time, nutritionists are invited to solve the problems of the Chinese-style soup-making culture for the public, and propose more specific solutions to reduce food waste.

"Catering Food Waste Survey"

現時香港每日棄置約3,600公噸廚餘,佔香港堆填區的總廢物量近40%,廚餘中約三分之一來自工商業(約1,000公噸)。雖然環境局自2012年開始發起「惜食香港」及「咪嘥野食店」運動,向大眾及業界宣傳源頭減廢,並為各界別製訂相關減少廚餘指引;香港餐飲業聯會亦曾為飲食界製訂減少廚餘的作業指引,推動各類食肆將減少廚餘納入作業過程,為減少餐飲廚餘出一分力。可是,近十年工商業廚餘的數量高居不下,根據數字,由2014年-2018年,本地每日棄置的工商業廚餘長期處於1千公噸以上的水平。

故此,關注廚餘問題的食德好發起是次「業界廚餘現況調查」,並與香港浸會大學國際學院合作,以葵青區作為調查試點,透過訪問區內各類型食肆、搜集他們廚餘數據及現況、處理和面對的問題等資訊,嘗試尋找相應的社區配套及作業誘因,最終動員到區區減少廚餘。進行數據分析後,亦會向公眾以至政府作出一系列減少廚餘的建議、方案配套及政策。

「2024年社區糧食安全狀況調查」

糧食安全與環境保護息息相關,兩者之間的平衡對我們的健康、經濟和生態系統至關重要。而根據聯合國糧食及農業組織定義,糧食安全指任何人在任何時候均能實質且有效地獲得充分、安全且營養之糧食,以迎合其飲食及糧食偏好的活力健康生活;而此定義不僅包括食品的安全性,還涵蓋食品的可得性(Availability)、可及性(Access)、適當性(Utilization)與穩定性(Stability)。

故此,多年來關注食物浪費、基層處境的慈善環保團體「食德好」發起是次「2024年社區糧食安全狀況調查」,結果揭示了經濟不景下社區整體於糧食安全和營養攝取方面面臨的諸多挑戰,近一半曾因節省開支而挨餓,也無法從食物中攝取足夠營養,情況令人憂慮;同時大部分受訪者對糧食安全認識也不足,將糧食安全與食物安全等概念混淆。「食德好」倡各界對香港糧食安全與氣候議題的關注,並採取行動,緩減對基層處境的影響,亦建議政府長遠訂立本地整全的食物政策,除加強對基層於食物和營養上的支援,亦需增強香港糧食的可持續性,緩減氣候暖化和全球糧食危機對本地糧食價格的影響,讓香港市民能食得好。
